crushed (2009) »
crushed is a dance/music/video performance work dealing with the idea of being blindsided. crushed is looking at how it feels to be caught off guard and how often times the entity doing the blindsiding is at times more affected than the blindsided entity. Dancers sing and musicians dance in this feverishly physical dissection of cause and effect.
mockumentary (2006) »
mockumentary is a seamless blending of dance, video, and music through lots of sweaty dancing, zombies, BMX bikes, and genre bending cinema. mockumentary begins as a fake documentary about a fake locust dance company whose militant choreographer turns out to be a zombie master, cursing the dancers and bringing forth zombies to kill them and turn them to the living dead. The audience follows the story as it unfolds simultaneously on screen and on stage as it culminates in a zombie dance off with one surviving company dancer, ready for whatever is to come. This experience is part mockumentary, part horror film, part avante dance performance, part hip hop video, and part rock show.
convenience (2005) »
convenience is a dance/music/video work that explores and presents different ways of looking at products and concepts that appear to make life easier. Velcro, wheels, a mini warrior that fights your battles for you, cute underwear, and a dart that renders annoying people unconcious are subjects for hilarious situations on screen and on stage. convenience is a darkly comic satire of the human desire to use the external as a vehicle to get what we want.
DEFACE (2004) »
DEFACE is a site-specific dance/music/video work originally made for a tiny movie screening theater in Seattle. The word deface is dissected through the exploration of thwarting and rewarding audience expectation. DEFACE is what it is like when you are alone in your bathroom for too long, staring into the mirror, as things become simultaneously more clear and abstract. We wear faces that say we are fine, when really, we are internally freaking out. What is is to deface yourself? Property? An Ideal? An expectation?
reflect/defect (2004) »
reflect/defect is a dance/music/video work inspired by human compensation for anxiety and what we perceive to be “defective” about ourselves. The things we do to make ourselves feel better are often funny and very tragic. We eat, smoke, drink, party too much, exercise too much. We were faces that say we are fine while we are constantly freaking out internally. Keeble’s live and recorded, kinesthetically charged score (with drumset and electronic effects pedals) that is driving, cinematic, and at times, whimsical, both accompanies and directs the course of action.
